El informe examina de forma crítica la posibilidad de que las tecnologías de vanguardia (frontier technologies) como la inteligencia artificial, la robótica o la edición de genes amplíen las desigualdades existentes y creen otras nuevas. Las tecnologías de vanguardia son esenciales para el desarrollo sostenible, pero también podrían acentuar las desigualdades ya existentes. Corresponde a los responsables políticos reducir este riesgo y hacer que las nuevas tecnologías contribuyan a aumentar la igualdad. Los países en desarrollo con rentas baja y media y los países menos desarrollados no pueden permitirse el lujo de perder la nueva ola de rápidos cambios tecnológicos. |
