The process is called the "Digital Evidence Bag" (DEB). The present document identifies the ways that a DEB can be used to provide assurance of material used in legal proceedings. Specifically, the assurance of the material is not dependent on the process having been carried out by a qualified or trained human expert. The present document is designed to be used in situations where a risk assessment of the handling of digital material has identified that extra assurance of the integrity, provenance, continuity and validity of the digital data is required.
