SMEs represent an important source of employment and economic motors for the EU, yet they are often at a disadvantage in upskilling their employees and/or recruiting the skills which are most in demand today. This Pilot Project was therefore launched to develop and test a structured programme that enables SME employees and unemployed persons to acquire the digital skills that are required in the modern work place. To represent diversity within the European Union, two very different European regions, the Region of Murcia in Spain and Lithuania were selected as test beds for the pilot programmes on Digital Skills. The work undertaken drew upon inputs from a wide range of stakeholders and the results have fed into the Digital Skills Blueprints that are at the heart of the report. They have been developed as aids to support the planning and implementation of digital skills centred initiatives, in particular those oriented towards those who often lack access to the necessary digital skills training required to compete in an increasingly digital economy UR - http://publications.europa.eu/publication/manifestation_identifier/PUB_KK0319149ENN UR - https://data.europa.eu/doi/10.2759/36058 ER -
