520 _aThe report analyses and ranks the changes that countries around the globe have seen in their digital competitiveness over the last three years. The ranking reveals clear dynamics regarding the two global digital superpowers: while China gained in digital competitiveness, the USA has lost out over the same time period. In Europe, a two-speed transformation continues. While France made significant advances in terms of its digital competitiveness, Germany fell in the same period. Italy was able to improve its position in the Group of Seven from last place in the previous year to second place in 2021. The top Digital Risers have one thing in common: They have followed comprehensive plans with ambitious goals and a focus on entrepreneurship.
