SFE Esports y la Asociación Española de Videojuegos (AEVI) han elaborado este documento con el apoyo de la Entertainment Software Association (EE.UU.), la Entertainment Software Association of Canada, la Interactive Games and Entertainment Association (Australia y Nueva Zelanda) y la Interactive Software Federation of Europe, con el objetivo de ayudar a comprender el fenómeno de las competiciones de videojuegos, también conocido como “competitive gaming” o “esports”. Por primera vez, las asociaciones que representan a la industria de los videojuegos, a las casas editoras, desarrolladores y a actores del sector de los esports han analizado la magnitud de esta creciente actividad económica para informar a los responsables políticos, a los reguladores, a las instituciones y al público sobre qué son los esports, garantizando que los responsables de la toma de decisiones estén informados y facilitando el diálogo con la industria. |
